Krush – Free Bitcrusher VST by Tritik

Krush VST is a free VST from Tritik– a free downsampler, clipper, and filter, that also features modulation for all features. Released as a VST & AU, it is available for both Mac and PCs. This isn’t a review as I’ve yet to put it through its paces, this is more just to highlight that it’s out there. As it’s free, you can check it out on your own terms.

If you spend any time at all rolling your own sounds, you’ll know that the creative effects can often make up a large part of the overall result. If you’ve been using Reason for a while, you might remember the good old days when everything ran through a Scream 4. Everything… If Reason did ever have ‘a sound’, I think it was Scream 4, on the tape setting. Anyway, back to the job at hand. Having some competing options for sound design can help you keep things fresh. Let’s take a closer look at Krush.

Krush – Free Bitcrusher VST by Tritik:

What does it do? Krush comprises 4 sound-shaping features and a modulation section. Additionally, the output section features dry/wet controls for parallel processing and controlling the depth of the effect. The sound shaping sections are; Drive, Bitcrush, Downsample, and a multimode resonant filter. This plugin combines the pure digital with analog-modeled resonant filters and its modulation section allows you to add movement and life to your sounds by allowing the modulation of any parameter.

The plugin offers a wide variety of sound destruction from the sublime to the more in-your-face nastiness.
